Eulogy

Soon after its origins in the heady days of September 2002, this website has lain dormant and untouched on the servers of Angelfire.com. Following their final closure in the spring of 2026, I have taken it on myself to save my little nonsense website. I'm not sure if it counts as preservation, archaeology, or reenactment, and I'm sure my Digital Preservation lecturers would have had a lot to say about this.

Fortunately, an archive of what I suspect may have been the final update, made in the February of 2003, has been crawled by the Internet Archive and the Angelfire ArchiveTeam. With a bit of digging and careful work, I've been able to access a good chunk of the data stored there.

This is not a faithful recreation of that data.

Where is the fun in preserving something that is already preserved, especially by organisations as resourced and experienced as the Internet Archive? Instead, this is a recreation, using most of the original assets and style sheets that have been recovered, interpreted in a way that more matches my vision for what a good website looked like in 2003.

The main content of the website, may, or may not, have been changed. Who's to say?

Certainly there are some very useless facts here. Maybe they're more useless than they were in 2003? Perhaps they're less facts than they were then also? Or maybe vice versa? Or perhaps, having exhausted all other options, they're exactly the same.

But enough from 2026 me. In the words of a sad 13 year old desperately trying to sound interesting:
